New course to reinvent PR training for the work-from-home world

Best-selling PR industry author, agency founder and global speaker Rich Leigh presents the High Flyers PR Course, a 10 lesson online public relations course aimed at giving students everything they need to become an industry-leading PR professional amid changing times.

As the public relations industry adapts to hybrid models of working, many PR bosses are worried about the effect this will have on skills development, with one leading agency owner saying it has caused training to “take a backseat.”

The High Flyers PR Course has been created to supercharge the careers of ambitious PR professionals who are aiming to improve their skills and enhance the value they bring to their roles. The course has been co-created by Rich Leigh with Alex Wilson, a former creative strategist and business development lead at Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

Alongside the pair’s combined 25 years’ experience in PR, the course has been produced with extensive input from senior academics and some of the industry’s leading agency owners, brand marketers and learning and development teams.

Students can enrol at, and the first lesson will begin on Monday 14 November.

Covering everything from media pitching tips and creativity to truly understanding agency profitability and how to win new business, over the course of ten video lessons The High Flyers PR Course will arm PR professionals with the tools and knowledge to help them succeed in their agencies, businesses and careers.

The course includes:

  • 10 weekly online video lessons that can be watched at students’ convenience
  • A Slack community where students can learn from their peers, build new connections, discuss the lessons, and get feedback on optional weekly mini-assignments
  • Fortnightly Q&A sessions with Rich Leigh
  • End of term assessment with grading and feedback

Rich Leigh, co-creator and the presenter of The High Flyers PR Course said,

“Learning and development is more important than ever, as both employers and employees adapt to a completely different working culture. That’s why we’ve spared no expense and left no stone unturned in making this course, even taking breaks while on holiday to work with a voice coach.

“As somebody that’s spent a small fortune on training for my team, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created. What started as a project to create internal training has become something that professionals all around the world – and importantly, the agencies and brands they work for – can benefit from.”

Alex Wilson, co-creator of The High Flyers PR Course said,

“Our goal with this course is to take all the things that took us each a decade to figure out, and communicate them in a way that people could learn in just a few weeks.

“Whether it’s learning about theorists like Byron Sharp and Binet & Field, or practical things like budgets and taking a journalist out to lunch, we’ve created the course we wish was available when we were starting out.”
